The
LPGA State Farm Classic is celebrating its 35th anniversary in Springfield,
IL! Throughout the years, State Farm has
continued to be a great supporter of the LPGA and women’s golf. I have played in the event for 8 years, and always
look forward to returning to Springfield.
I also enjoy staying with the same host family every year. State Farm, along with the other sponsors,
volunteers and the community, embrace the event and players, and make it a
treat for us to come to Springfield to compete.
This
event also marks the first of five in a row that I will be playing. Within this next stretch of tournaments,
there are two Major Championships. It is
an incredibly influential stretch of events for both rankings and the official
money list. The top players will play a minimum
of four. The five week swing will end at
Oakmont Country Club, in Pennsylvania, for the U.S. Women’s Open.
I
hope everyone gets a chance to watch the event on the Golf Channel this weekend!
